Ashcombe Valley Archers is a NFAS affiliated club and operates under the NFAS rule book, but like many other clubs we also have our own rules specific to our site. The site is based around a wooded valley with a stream running though the wooded area fed from the fields on either side so has a large catchement area is is never completely dry. It is also a relatively small site with some 36 targets so we make the best use of the area that is possible whilst still being a safe area to shoot.

Visitors should make themselves aware of the club rules before entering the course.

The course begins at the gate with the Tag Board and covers the fields and woods beyond the gate, Tha car park and practise grounds are not cover by our course rules but follow NFAS guidelines on behaviour for such areas, in particular the practice area is where we run our beginners courses, have a go days and commence assessemnt of archers for full membership of the NFAS and as such fall under their own set of rules for insurance purposes.

When the practise grounds are in use by the coach for training courses, beginners or experienced archers, then they should not be used by other archers allowing the coach to carry out the training in a safe manner. It is not safe to assume that a group containing the coach and possibly other committee members is a chat group, it is more likely to be a training session and as such is a private area.

All club members should make themselves aware of the club committee members so they know who to contact should they have a query.
